Comments: The Reiner Family Fiddle Band, from Lexington, Massachusetts, features the lively fiddle - banjo duets of champion fiddler Dave Reiner and his wife Cindy Eid. Their sons Andy and Eric Eid-Reiner (16 and 13 years old, respectively) play fiddle, piano, and other rhythm instruments. Mike Holmes and John Robinson join them on mandolin, guitar, and vocals, in a repertoire ranging from traditional oldtime and Celtic styles to bluegrass, Cajun, ragtime, and swing. The Reiner Family Fiddle Band not only plays great traditional tunes for audiences of all ages, but also involves their listeners in learning about the instruments and the music. Recent local appearances include Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Newton; New England Folk Festival in Natick; East Boston Waterfront Festival; Upper Story Books, Discovery Days, and Overall Music in Lexington; Codman Community Farm Festival in Lincoln; Pepperell Folk Festival, and contra and square dances at the Concord Scout House and Lexington¹s Harrington School. We are available for festivals, celebrations, parties, dances, weddings, music workshops, and other special events. We can play acoustically or provide a full sound system for indoors or outdoors. For dances, we can bring an experienced dance caller who can make dancing easy and fun for all ages and all ability levels. |
